On September 6, AmCham Estonia hosted their highly anticipated annual meeting, featuring Prime Minister Kristen Michal as the keynote speaker. It was an honor for us at SCCE to attend alongside over 100 business leaders from various sectors.
Prime Minister Michal delivered a compelling speech focused on balancing certainty with economic costs. He acknowledged the challenges Estonia faces in maintaining stability, especially amid global uncertainties, and stressed the importance of long-term planning. His message that the cost of maintaining certainty is far outweighed by the risks of uncertainty truly resonated with the audience. He also highlighted the crucial role of security in fostering Estonia’s growth, emphasizing that a stable and predictable environment is essential for attracting investment and ensuring long-term prosperity.
The post-speech Q&A sparked an engaging dialogue on how businesses can align with the government’s strategies to support Estonia’s economic resilience. The discussion reinforced the importance of collaboration between the business community and the government in navigating the complexities of the economic landscape ahead.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to AmCham for inviting us to such a valuable event and for organizing this important platform for dialogue. A special thanks to all the SCCE representatives who attended!
